Heartland announces Future Foundations Scholarship recipients

GIRARD – Heartland Rural Electric Cooperative is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Future Foundations Scholarships. This program provides up to eight $1,000 scholarships to support students in Heartland-served homes who are pursuing careers in high-demand fields including nursing, teaching, and skilled trades.
The following students have been selected to receive a Future Foundations Scholarship:
Tara Weller – Jayhawk-Linn High School, Nursing
Mary Jane Britz – Prairie View High School, Large Animal Veterinarian
Benton Stainbrook – Prairie View High School, Automotive Technology
Korbyn Newberry – Columbus High School, Electrical Technology
Syler Schuberger – Columbus High School, Construction Management
Devon Westhoff – Erie High School, Nursing
Avery Stewart – Fort Scott High School, Teaching
• Colby Hueston – Uniontown High School, Lineman

Cooperative Electric Power & Light Company joined with Sugar Valley in 1975 to form United Electric Cooperative; United Electric Cooperative joined with Sekan Electric Cooperative Association in 1996 to form Heartland.
