Sheriff's report for week ending March 8

MOUND CITY – The Linn County’s Sheriff’s report for Monday, March 10, showed the current numbers for the week ending March 8 were:


• Total prisoners at the Justice Center the past week were 60. Twelve prisoners were released the past week.

• Total prisoners in were 58.

• Two prisoners were sent to another facility. (One conflict of interest and one competency evaluation.) 

• Forty-nine prisoners were from other facilities (33 U.S. Marshal's Service, 10 Wyandotte County, 6 other, $3,879/day)

• Total 911 calls were 96. 

• There were 3,986 jail contacts.                                                                                                       • Total calls for service were 621. 

• Total civil service papers served were 33.

• There were eight vehicle identification number (VIN) inspections.

• Twenty-four new cases (criminal, child in need of care, etc.) were opened.

• Four cases were closed.

• There were seven vehicle crashes.

• There were 88 School Resource Officer activities. 

• There were 213 bailiff contacts resulting in 25 calls for service. 

• Three reports received of livestock out.
