(Rosa) Earlene Davis, former Moscow, Kansas resident, passed away at The Horton House in Fort Scott, Kansas, Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the age of 93 with family at her side.

Earlene was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Earl Kirby, Tulia, Texas, she was born August 18, 1930. Earlene Kirby and Robert L. Davis, Jr. solemnized their marriage vows February 3, 1945, at the First Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas. They were married for 62 years. During that time, three children blessed this union.

There were many talents and hobbies that Earlene enjoyed. Among them, sewing was by far her favorite. She was an excellent cook and baker as well. Gardening and canning always brought her pleasure. No matter what she was doing, she always had a dog or cat by her side. All animals loved her. Earlene’s richest talent was that of being a grandmother. MeeMee made her grandchildren feel cherished and loved.

Six grandchildren: Michael Simmons (Heather); Kirby Davis; Shonda Rawlings; Kelley Linn; Kristyn Milburn (Matt); and Jessica Rush (Brad). 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers and in honor of our mother a.k.a. Great MeeMee, please donate to The Kansas Honor Flight (kansashonorflight.org) in care of Schneider Funeral Home, PO Box J, Mound City, Kansas 66056. Veterans who served this country were near and dear to her heart.
