It's safe to say things didn't go the way the way they wanted. The contingent of three wrestlers from Prairie View boys team weren't able to turn their regional medals into state medals at the Class 4A State Boys Wrestling Championship in Salina. The two-day event ended Saturday, March 1.

Freshan Ryan Nickell, 106 pounds, lost his first round on a technical fall but got a win in the consolation bracket with a medical forfeit. He was pinned in the third round, ending his run for a medal. He ends the season with a record of 21 wins and 13 losses and has three more years ahead in his high school wrestling career.

Parker Schwarz, a 215 pound junior, won his first round match with a pin, but took a fall in the second round and was pinned again in his third match, ending his run. Schwarz ends his season with a 28-10 record.

Junior Josh Goodwin, 285 pounds, took a fall in the first match but won with a pin in round two. However, he took a fall in the third match, ending his state bid. He ends the season with a record of 25-10.
