In other Christmas-related news:
• Pleasanton City Hall is the site of a mail collection box for children who want their letters to go directly to the Jolly Old Elf himself.
Parents should make sure that a return address is on the letter so that Santa will be able send a letter back to the sender. Letters need to be in the box by Thursday, Dec. 19, to get a response from the North Pole.
• Finally, collections are being taken for a Pound Puppy Tree. A Christmas tree will be decorated with donations for toys, treats and small blankets to be used for pups in the city’s animal shelter.
The tree will be on display at the Pleasanton Community Center, 819 Main Street during the Christmas parade and other activities on Dec. 14 or on family movie day on Dec. 15.
You can leave items at City Hall or bring them and help decorate the tree on Dec. 14th and 15th.
