Parker’s annual Christmas celebration is set for this Saturday, Dec. 14.
The activities will start outside with Miracle on Main parade down Main Street that begins at 4:30 p.m. Last year a handful of entries braved the biting cold wind. Organizers are hoping for more entries, and this year’s weather looks to be more favorable with the extended forecast calling for mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-40s.
Judging entries will begin at 4 p.m. at Heritage Park, and prizes will be given to the top three entries.
As the sun begins to set, the scene changes to Parker Elementary School. Members of the Parker Area Ladies Society (PALS) will begin serving the Christmas dinner at 5 p.m. The menu for the free-will-donation dinner is chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes.
Santa is set to arrive at 5 p.m. to meet with the children and make any last-minute adjustments to wish lists.
Everyone who attends will be eligible for the raffle, which will have prizes for children and adults alike. Area businesses, families and individuals contribute to provide prizes for the raffle every year, and those prizes can range from dolls to bicycles.
Raffle prizes are lined up for last year's Christmas event. Organizers plan on prizes for-both children and adults on Saturday. (Journal file photo)
