Updated: Sep 30

July 19, 1931 ~ September 3, 2024 (age 93)

Vesta Maxine Kinder, of Palestine, Texas, departed this life for her heavenly home on Tuesday, the 3rd day of September 2024.  At the age of 93, “Maxine” as she was best known, joined her beloved husband, Guy Eugene Kinder, in heaven. She was born in Mankato, Kansas, on the 19th day of July 1931 to parents Glen Gail Glover and Edith Maxine Beam.  Her life was a testament to the joy and fulfillment that comes from embracing one's interests wholeheartedly and giving back to others.

Mrs. Kinder's dedication to her faith and community was evident through her active participation in the Bell Chorus at First Methodist Church in Palestine. She was also choir director and bells at Payne Springs Methodist Church.  Her melodious contributions to the choir were a source of inspiration and comfort to all who heard them. She carried this spirit of service and fellowship into her membership with the Athens Eastern Star Chapter #177, where she formed lasting bonds and supported numerous charitable endeavors.

Her commitment to her beliefs extended to her involvement with Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a cherished member. Mrs. Kinder's faith was a guiding light in her life, and she lived it with grace and devotion. She also found camaraderie and purpose as a member of Sharuhan Temple #127, the Social Order of the Beauceant Dallas Assembly #63, and the Daughters of the Nile of Tyler, where her contributions were both valued and deeply appreciated.

Mrs. Kinder's zest for life was matched by her love of the great outdoors. After retiring, both her and Gene opened Kinder tours.  This allowed them to share their passion for travel and making new friends. She explored the world with an open heart, always ready for a new adventure. Fishing and hunting were not just hobbies for Mrs. Kinder; they were passions that brought her closer to nature and to the people she shared these experiences with. Her love for her family was the foundation of her existence, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Above all, Mrs. Kinder will be remembered as a loving individual whose adventurous spirit and passionate soul enriched the lives of those around her. Her voice, a familiar and beloved sound in the choir, will be greatly missed, but the melodies she shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene Kinder, son Jim Ryan Kinder, daughter-in-law Connie Ann Kinder, grandchildren LeAnn McKinney and Vance McMillan, and her brother John Glenn Glover.
