Pleasanton, Kansas

Eula Mae Emerson, age 80, Pleasanton, Kan., passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024.  She was born in Denver, Colo. on June 20, 1943, the daughter of Roy and Juanita McGinnis Tomblinson.

She was a homemaker who liked to knit and crochet and loved making her home comfortable for those who visited.  Mae was a very good cook and loved to feed her family.  She was a Christian woman who enjoyed reading her Bible and spent many years teaching Sunday School to young children. She was a faithful church-goer and loved Jesus.  Mae’s love of animals was well-known. She and Jack’s several Shih-Tzu dogs were very pampered pets in their home over the years.

Despite Mae’s several health issues, she was not one to complain. She always supported her husband, and family, and loved them to the end.  Mae was united in marriage to Jack Emerson in July of 1984 in Colorado.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gwen Zipperly.  Mae is survived by her husband, Jack; three sons, Mark Bisbee, Russell Bisbee, and Michael Bisbee; a daughter, Myndi Thomas; and two stepchildren, Jackie Taylor and Tom Emerson. Mae had 10 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren with that number still growing.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.  A graveside will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, Okla.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Regina's Rescue, Parker, Kan.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfuneral.com.
