Doris Maxine Basore, age 104, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away Monday, March 10, 2024. She was born in Bates County, Missouri on January 2, 1920, the daughter of Ray and Verna Chapman Lacy. She graduated from Rich Hill High School in the Class of 1937.
Doris was united in marriage to Victor Claude Basore on February 6, 1939. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1986. Before retirement she worked as the site manager for Linn County Nutrition. Doris's faith and family were the two most important things in her life. She rarely missed her kid's or grandkid's activities, and usually showed up early.
She was also preceded in death three sons, Bob, Bill, and Tom Basore; three grandchildren; three brothers, Wilbur, John, and Jim Lacy; and two sisters, Dorothy and Norma Swope. Doris is survived by her children, Gary Basore and wife Mary, Jack Basore and wife Terri, Betty Maschler and husband Steve, and Ronnie Basore and wife Cheryl; nine grandchildren; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11 am Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, from 10 a.m. to service time at the Pleasanton Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
