The visiting Prairie View Buffalos picked up right where they left from last Friday. For the second straight game, the offense threw no passes, the ground game was utterly dominant, and the defense allowed just 20 points, 14 coming in garbage time late in the game.

Junior running back Parker Schwarz is wreaking havoc this year, going over 300 yards on only 13 carries and five touchdowns. Josh Goodwin did most of the rest of the damage, going for 130 yards and 2 scores. As a team, the Buffaloes ran for 554 yards on 46 carries.

The defense started out with a 3-and-out, then a 14-yard play, 85 yards drive, resulting in a 3 yard touchdown run by Schwarz. After another 3-and-out, Goodwin took the ball 60 yards off the left tackle for a touchdown on the first play on the next drive. Santa Fe Trail quickly answered with a 60-yard touchdown of their own, making the score 12-7 early in the second quarter.

The remainder of the second quarter was all Prairie View. The defense held the Chargers to no yards, no first down, no points while Schwarz racked up three more touchdowns, including a 76-yard jaunt. The halftime score was 34-7.

The Buffs got on the board quickly to start the second half. Goodwin finished off a 10-play, 56-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown dive. Santa Fe Trail answered with a two-play touchdown drive finished off with a 44-yard touchdown run.

Schwarz took any wind out of the Chargers’ sails with an 80-yard dash down the sideline, leaving the home team in his dust. Santa Fe Trail was able to tack on one more touchdown towards the end, making the final score Prairie View 46, Santa Fe Trail 21.
