Barbara Jean Harbison, age 85, La Cygne, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025. She was born on October 16, 1939, in La Cygne, Kansas, the daughter of Harry T. and Evelyn Faye Nellsch Bergman. She graduated from La Cygne High School.
She worked at many different jobs, but most of her working career was at Bass Buster. Barbara was united in marriage to Glen Harbison on July 1, 1980. She was a member of the Fontana Christian Church. She liked to crochet, cook and work in her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Laverne Bergman. Barbara is survived by her husband, Glen Harbison; three daughters, Pam Lewis, Marian Miller and Jenny Grizzle(Gale); two brothers, Bill Bergman and Eugene Bergman; four grandchildren, Kyle and Adam Grizzle, Brandon Pompey, and Jessica Lewis; and three great-grandchildren, Allie Stewart, Andi Grizzle, and Ethan Pompey.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Fontana Christian Church. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, at the Schneider Funeral Home, La Cygne Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Breast Cancer Research.
