WOW!
The rodeo world on the national scene just figured out what the extended Linn County Fair & Rodeo community has known for years: Besides being a great person, Troy Goodridge is one talented rodeo announcer.
Goodridge was named Announcer of The Year by the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) during the NFR in Las Vegas last December. A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Troy and to his family.
In addition to his regular announcing schedule, Goodridge flew to Pilestown, N.J., to announce the famed Cowtown Weekly Rodeo on July 20. The 70-year-old Cowtown rodeo is the longest running continuous rodeo east of the Mississippi River.
The Cowtown Rodeo was inducted into the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2021 and hosts sold out performances every Saturday night during the summer.
“Announcing Cowtown was a huge honor for me and quite a thrill for a boy from Redfield, Kan.,” said Goodridge. “I go back Aug. 17 to announce another performance.”
Goodridge will return to the “crow’s nest” and the announcer’s microphone at the 2024 Linn County Fair Rodeo, Aug. 9-10, for the 15th consecutive year.
