December 23, 1957 - June 28, 2024

Alan McDowell passed away on 06/28/2024 at his home in Parker Kansas. Alan was born 12/23/1957 in Garnett Kansas, the second of five children born to David Eldon McDowell and Sue Ann Sutton McDowell Crum.

Alan grew up and attended Osawatomie schools where he graduated in 1975.

Just a few short years later Alan met Rita Jean Lawrence of Hillsdale. Depending on who you asked. Alan and Rita were married on 11/5/1982 in Paola, Kansas, Alan would have been the one to ask if you were wondering. They later settled in Parker, Kansas. Together they raised two sons, Dustin Lee Lawrence and Jeremy Alan McDowell.

Alan worked hard to provide for his family, many of those years working on the third shift.

Alan in his free time enjoyed watching westerns and keeping up with current events watching NewsMax, and spending time with his closest friends and family. He was an avid hunter and loved tinkering with his vehicles. Some would say he had two loves in his life Rita and his “88” Ford F150.

Alan retired from working in 2022 with Rita and together they would take pleasure in day trips on a whim.

Alan was preceded in death by his Father Eldon, Mother Sue, His grandparents and his beloved niece Melissa Kitchen.

Alan was survived by his wife Rita McDowell, His sons Dustin (Cassandra)Lawrence Ottawa Ks, Jeremy (Jennifer) McDowell Garnett Ks, Brother Steve (Betty) McDowell Springhill Ks, Sister Starla (Mike)Hughes LaGrange Il, Sister Misty (Randy) Kitchen Osawatomie Ks and Brother Ronnie (Theresa) Hendersonville Tn. Those that he was blessed to call his Grandchildren: Cole, Max, Nathan, Nickolas, Nolan, Taylor, Phoebe. Many nieces and nephews.
